First of all, why haven't we written anything about our progress lately? We're going to blame Mike on this one, since he's the one who writes these updates and he was occupied for the vast majority of April. It's all his fault. You may express your displeasure directly to him.
In the meantime, here's where we stand on various things:
Are the game mechanics finished?
We've made changes based on what we wrote in the previous devlog, so... yes? We've found that there is always something that can be changed, so for us it's a matter of finding what best represents the game and then just stopping when we hit that point. We believe we've found a way to take care of problems our playtesters have pointed out while keeping the central game experience intact.
When are you going to crowdfund this?
Because of the changes we made, we're pushing it back from what we had hoped. Initially we wanted something in late March or April, and we're glad that we never finalized any dates since that has obviously not panned out. Based on our relationship with other tabletop developers and our own research, it seems to be normal to have delays here and there. Now we'd like to put up a campaign this summer, though like last time we are not nailing down a date until we know for certain.
What can I do while I wait?
If you're not already following us in one way or another, we'd love to have you along! We have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and of course, this very website. There's no need to subscribe to all of those but anything that will keep you up to date on what's happening is great! We also have a contact page where you can sign up for our e-mail newsletter. We only e-mail a couple times a year with important info, such as convention appearances and when we finally get this crowdfunding campaign live. We really do appreciate everyone who has followed or even just stopped by when we're at an event, and we love hearing feedback. Even the... er, less positive feedback! That's how we know what to fix.
What are you doing right now with Congress: The Board Game?
We don't like to talk too much about future plans without knowing. It's enough to say we intend to crowdfund, and are in the process of creating that campaign. Some materials exist, but until it's finalized we'll have to keep you on the edges of your seats. The big con season is coming up as well, and we'll do our best to represent ourselves in as many places as will have us and that we can afford to go to. We've greatly enjoyed every event we've been able to present at, or even just attend. Shout-outs to people from ETX and OrcaCon especially for reaching out to us first!
That's all for the moment. Thanks!
